Presence detection

Hello,

I am trying to use the gateway to detect when certain iphones are near by so I can use it in Home assistant. However I have been unable to do this so far, and I a not sure if there are any examples. Also does the iPhone roll the mac addresses, if so does that mean this wont work for my use case ?

Yes. iPhone do roll the mac addresses.

@aprilpea- So does that mean there is no way for me to detect presence in my home based on iPhone bluetooth ?

Is there any way to work around this ? I am really just interested in identifying if either my wives or my iphone is in the house…
